Fuller House
I know, people. But bare with me, okay? If you can go back in the memory bank and remember what Full House used to be like, it wasn’t really that great of a show. The acting is pretty awful, the writing is cheesy, and there’s always some strange lesson that is being taught. Netflix’s revamp stays pretty true to the original except DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy Gibbler (my new favorite TV character) are stepping in as Danny, Uncle Jesse, and Joey respectively. The episodes grew on me, and I was genuinely excited when I heard there was going to be a second season. Let’s just hope the Olsen twins come back next time!

Love
This Netflix original rom-com comes from comedy guru Judd Apatow and stars up-and-coming actors Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust. The show follows these two characters who are recently heartbroken and find new love with each other. The typical rom-com tropes are present, but Apatow has a great sense for comedy so the typical rom-com scenarios are elevated to be even funnier. If you and your SO are on good terms at the moment, this wouldn’t be a bad show to watch together.

Hannibal Buress: Comedy Camisado
You can never say a bad thing about comedian Hannibal Buress. He’s been known for his stand-up for years (he’s the one who brought light to that whole Bill Cosby situation, FYI). Now he’s been showing up in some movies and even on Comedy Central’s fantastic show Broad City. His stand-up special really feels like a cumulation of his career thus far. His jokes really land when he explores his existential crises. We love you, Hannibal!

High Profits
Regardless of your views on legalization of marijuana, this CNN series called High Profits is truly fascinating. The shows follows a couple who own and operate a marijuana dispensary in Breckenridge, CO. The first episode takes place on the day that marijuana officially became legal in the state (January 1, 2014). The rest of the shows deals with how the community of Breckenridge is dealing with legal bud, alongside the fact that the underground system is being brought up into the light. Makes you wonder what is going to happen if/when it happens here in Michigan.

Dope
Dope is dope. Sorry, I had to. Anyway, this movie is really great. A young teen in LA ends up with a bag full of drugs on accident and the dealers and cartel are after him to get their drugs back. The movie is full of celebrity-rapper cameos and hilarious millennial-type jokes. Towards the end it borders on unrealistic --some of the car chases are like yeah right -- but it’s the movies so who cares at the end of the day. As long as it’s entertaining, right?

Cooked
Documentary nerds, this one's for you. Food writer Michael Pollan adapted his latest best-seller into an original Netflix docu-series. Each episode features a different element that is associated with cooking- “Fire”, “Water”, “Air”, and “Earth” and explores the ideas around them. For instance, where cooking with fire originated from and how we use fire to cook today. It’s especially interesting if you classify yourself as a “foodie” or if you just love to eat. Plus, he tackles some trendy food topics like gluten-free as well.

Jessica Jones
Please do yourself a favor and watch this Netflix original series Jessica Jones. Jessica Jones is your average white girl living in the big city until she’s not. She’s secretly a badass superhero created by the lovely people at Marvel. The best part about Jessica Jones is that she acts like a real life women. She laughs, and swears, and cries. She has sex with guys and doesn’t call herself a slut for doing it. A complete breath of fresh air in the longtime uber-masculine world of superheros. Must watch!

Mad Men
With its final season just being added to Netflix, it is time for you to watch the entire show. Trust us, you won’t regret it. The first couple of episodes are hard to get through as they do a ton of frame work for the series, but once it's over with you will thank us. Everything about this show is perfection. The writing, directing, acting, and production. Sure it has its slow moments, but the drama that came with it was always on par.

Moonrise Kingdom
Nothing can beat a great Wes Anderson flick. There’s a certain style that his movies possess -- from the cinematography to the wardrobe. Moonrise Kingdom is a perfect example of how Wes blends his own style and creativity with an amazing group of actors like Frances McDormand and Bill Murray. The movie follows a young boy scout and a young girl as they escape the real world and try to live in the woods. It has that great growing up story that makes you feel all warm inside.

Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves
Can we just all agree that this movie is better than the original? Isn’t it much more satisfying to see the parents distressed than the kids? Nothing beats that scene where the parents are all in the Hot Wheels car racing down the track! If you’re sick of modern-day comedies and you’re craving a nostalgia-induced coma then we have found your solution. P.S- if you look real hard you’ll even see a young Mila Kunis!
