The ‘60 wrd/min art critic’ comes to Hamtramck
For the past decade, Chicago-area arts writer Lori Waxman has brought her “60 wrd/min art critic” project to different cities around the country. With the help of the Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant Program, Waxman sets up a pop-up office where she reviews the work of any artist, free of charge. Waxman’s reviews are projected onto a screen as she composes them, and the finished copy is signed and given to the artists. From Friday, Nov. 27 to Sunday, Nov. 29, Waxman brought the project to Hamtramck’s 9338 Campau gallery, reviewing the work of nearly 30 metro Detroit artists.
